They're ordinary grays, but too habituated and sometimes willing to harass people for food. Maybe we could film there. . . Not as glamorous as a jaguar in a church, but I think it could work if we got a good enough cast, a love interest for one of the guys having doubts about his vocation, and we used enough realistic CGI squirrels.James Smithnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8049832311913108906.post-11158477069815718942013-08-15T17:29:36.166-05:002013-08-15T17:29:36.166-05:00I loved this, especially since I could predict at ...I loved this, especially since I could predict at the outset where it was going...sort of like a horror movie, you KNOW the heroine is going to walk into that sketchy-looking shack that looks like it was decorated by the firm of Beane, Gein & Fish. ;)

Each year, I deal with scores of well-meaning people who find "abandoned" baby squirrels and want to raise them instead of contacting qualified rehabilitators.

My usual response is that even if this were legal in my state, a pet squirrel--with a handful of exceptions sometimes bred in captivity and legitimately available to dedicated owners--is essentially like owning a barn rat on methamphetamines. When the analogy doesn't work, I mention three or four of the wonderful little germs that can be transmitted through the animal's saliva, urine, feces or any hitchhikers on his coat--and you should see how fast people ask me for the wildlife hotline :)
James Smithnoreply@blogger.com
